Your Farmington Lakes apartment is no doubt a great place to relax, but sometimes getting out of the house is the best medicine for the soul. Luckily, there are some great relaxing and revitalizing activities that take place just 10 minutes from your apartment at the Little White School Museum.
This museum was originally a church built in 1850, then served as a community school until the 1960s. Now it is run by the Oswegoland Park District, and is a popular site for weddings in addition to community events.
You can find out what’s going on every day with the museum’s monthly calendar, but here are a few highlights to consider:
The museum has an active quilters group that meets every week. A handmade quilt would look great in your Farmington apartment! Any resident is welcome to come craft and learn more about the relaxing quilting process.
There are three yoga and meditation activities to choose from almost every Monday at the museum.
Yoga Fundamentals: This class is all about nailing the form and technique of yoga, and the relaxation that comes with it. It’s open to all skill levels, but make sure to bring your own yoga mat.
Art of Meditation: If you want to focus less on the moves and more on the mind, this class is for you. The instructor will help you ease stress and tension in your life by using breathing exercises and other techniques. You are welcome to bring a mat or blanket with you.
Candlelight Yoga: This class is the ultimate tranquil experience. The museum invites you to enjoy its historic stained glass windows and wood floors by candlelight while perfecting those yoga moves. All skill levels are welcome, and make sure to bring your own mat. Just don’t fall asleep until you get back home!
We hope you are able to attend one of these great activities this month! Check out more events on the Little White School Museum page, or call (630) 554-2999 for more information.
