Celebrate Late Fall at Keller’s Farmstand

Pumpkins in the field at Keller's Farmstand.

For many of us, pumpkins play a big role in our fall rituals. Whether we’re looking to decorate our porches or try out our best pumpkin pie recipes, a trip to the local pumpkin patch is often necessary. Fortunately, you won’t have to travel far to enjoy this seasonal tradition. Located just 15 minutes from Farmington Lakes Apartments, Keller’s Farmstand offers locals lots of ways to enjoy and celebrate the harvest season.

Fall Festivities at Keller’s Farmstand

Keller’s Farmstand will host a celebration of fall every weekend in October. All events will feature the traditional elements of a great harvest festival: a pumpkin patch, elaborate corn maze, wagon rides, and a petting zoo.

With its grand size and imposing features, the corn maze may just be the most popular attraction at Keller’s Farmstand. If you’re ready to take on a cerebral challenge, there are several paths (all at differing levels of difficulty) to choose from in the 10-acre field. You may end up spending over an hour finding your way through the corn stalks!

After conquering the corn maze, head over to the concession booth for some well-earned seasonal snacks. Here, you’ll find lots of delicious fall treats like fudge, kettle corn, and apple cider doughnuts. Of course, before you leave, don’t forget to pick out your perfect pumpkin from the patch.

Apple Picking Adventures

Although it’s late in the season, there’s still time to squeeze in a spot of apple picking. The orchard at Keller’s Farmstand will be open for picking through the end of October.

The process at Keller’s is simple. First, pay for a bag. Then, fill the bag to the brim with fresh, crisp apples of your choosing. Finally, take your apples home to enjoy, either pressed into cider or baked in a pie.

At Keller’s Farmstand, the best apples to look for in October are the Idared, Crispin, Rome Beauty, Fuji, and Evercrisp varieties. The Evercrisp is a cross between a Fuji and Honey Crisp; it’s perfect for enjoying fresh off the tree.

Seasonal Produce at the Market

Keller’s Farmstand is a great place to pick up locally grown seasonal produce. During the fall season, the market offers several varieties of squashes, including butternut, spaghetti, and acorn. You’ll also find fresh bushels of corn and fall favorites like jams, and local honey for sale.

If you’re an adventurous home décor enthusiast, consider picking up some colored corn and hay bales for your front porch.

Plan Your Visit

Keller’s Farmstand has three locations. This means that you’ll find gorgeous pumpkins in Plainfield, Oswego, and Naperville. All three markets are open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Mondays through Fridays all the way to October 31st. The fall festivities are only available on Saturdays and Sundays, however.

All in all, Keller’s Farmstand offers great value to all of its customers.
