Summer will be in full swing soon. Are you looking for some fun out in the sun? If so, you’ll want to check out these three summer activities near Farmington Lakes Apartments.
Phillips Park Zoo
A trip to the zoo is an evergreen way to have a great time. The Phillips Park Zoo has been operating for over a century and continues to delight visitors to this very day.
A variety of animals preside here, including peregrine falcons, bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, mountain lions, and grey wolves. Meanwhile, the Reptile House hosts California desert tortoises, Burmese pythons, red-tail boa constrictors, and American alligators. Best of all, admission is free!
Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center
Just a few minutes away from the zoo is the Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center, a friendly hotspot for summer fun.
The park offers pool-based entertainment for swimmers of all skill levels. You’ll also have fun with winding body flume water slides and drop-off slides. If you’re not looking to get wet, enjoy frolicking in the sand play area or play volleyball on one of the two regulation sand courts.
On June 21st, participate in the Worlds’ Largest Swim Lesson at this park. Registration begins at 9:15 am.
Farmington Lakes’ close proximity to the River Fox Valley means that there are a number of parks and trails for residents to enjoy.
One such park is Deerbrook Park, a seven-acre space featuring sheltered picnic tables, a basketball half-court, a baseball backstop, and an asphalt path designed for skateboarders.
